Christian’s subject matter revolves around the physical form, with projects based around facial features, hands and feet featuring prominently in his aesthetic. The unique characteristics of these features lend themselves to a visual connection, an unspoken dialog between art, viewer and the emotions put into the work by the artist.

Christian is influenced by various classical and modern masters, but finds even greater inspiration in art movements such as Dadaism and Surrealism.  These styles form the foundation of his realistic, highly contrasted style of painting, which is endowed with these properties through his medium of choice, acrylics, chosen for their fast drying characteristics.

“I strongly believe that being an artist is a mixture of emotion, intellect, skill, and destiny,” says Christian, “…art to me is all about being true to one’s emotions and is the result of an almost accidental process of creation.”
